School Inspection Reports
The school reports published on this website for 2009 to 2010 provide a comprehensive review of the performance of each school in Dubai. The reports are shared with schools to help inform improvement planning. The reports provide parents in Dubai with detailed information about school quality to help inform their choice regarding school selection. The information will also help parents work closely with schools, as partners in learning, to help facilitate school improvement.

Inspectors evaluated school performance using a number of quality indicators. These were applied consistently across all schools in Dubai.

  • The inspection reports have been created to provide parents and other interested parties with an objective overview of the quality of education provided by all schools in Dubai.

  • Inspections report on how well students perform, the quality of the education and care provided by the school and the effectiveness of leadership and management. A four point scale is used to grade schools. The four levels of performance are; outstanding; good; acceptable and unsatisfactory.

Schools identified as providing, overall, an unsatisfactory quality of education will receive a follow through inspection. Inspectors will publish a follow through inspection report and this will be made available to parents on this website.

Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB) evaluates the overall performance of a school using four categories; outstanding, good, acceptable or unsatisfactory. When a school is judged as unsatisfactory it will receive more frequent inspections. These additional inspections take place around every three months and are called Follow-Through Inspections. During Follow-Through Inspections, inspectors focus on the recommendations given to the school in the initial inspection and evaluate the progress made by the school. Follow-Through Inspections continue until the school meets the recommendations. At this point the school joins the regular inspection cycle. The full inspection will determine how well the school is performing overall ; either, unsatisfactory, acceptable, good or outstanding.
