Jo Maher leads the strategy, research and engagement teams. She is also responsible for the ongoing strategy and planning of private education in Dubai in addition to leading collaboration efforts between KHDA and its various stakeholders.
Prior to KHDA, she worked for the British Council as the Country Director and Cultural Attaché for the UK government in several Arab countries, with the responsibility of developing strategies for education reform and cultural programs.
Before that, she worked for the Ministry of Culture in Egypt and the Ministry of Social Affairs in Thailand supporting cross-cultural arts partnerships with the UK, and health education and reform in the maternal health sector.
