Schools Agency
School AgencyThe School Agency (SA) of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai was established by virtue of the Executive Council Decree No. 11 of 2007. SA was established to oversee the development and management of the school-based educational services in the Emirate of Dubai.

The launch of the SA comes shortly after KHDA was established and is an illustration of the Authority’s keenness to enhance the education sector in Dubai at all levels, bringing it on par with international standards while maintaining cultural & social values. SA also aims to promote educational outcomes in accordance with the requirements of the job market and believes that improving and developing education in schools is the key. The SA is also working on improving the public opinion of the education sector. These objectives are in line with the Dubai Strategic Plan 2007-2015.

School AgencyThe SA will be responsible for all school-based educational institutions (public and private) in all stages of development and seeks to introduce valuable criteria to deliver unique educational services. The SA seeks to make school education accessible to all segments of the society. Additionally, it seeks to improve the teaching conditions as well as elevate the status of the teachers in Dubai. The SA will provide administrative guidance to the government schools but will allow more autonomy and independence, urging them to take a more active role. Another agenda is to implement a variety of educational programs to suit different segments of the society.

The SA began implementing its plan by restructuring the Dubai Educational Zone, renaming it as the Administrative Services Unit. The Administrative Services Unit is part of the SA and is being restructured to save time and effort and to provide high quality administrative services to all educational stakeholders i.e. students, parents, teachers and administrators in the schools.

The appointment of HE Fatma Al Marri as the CEO of the SA has given the agency the necessary boost and support it requires. As an educational specialist and a member of Federal National Council, Fatma Al Marri is backed with long standing experience in the education field. She is also knowledgeable about the requirements and challenges facing the educational sector and the people working in this field.
